Moral, Civic and National Education Team

Nurturing Values and Character

Introduction

Moral, Civic and National Education forms the cornerstone of values education at our school. In accordance with the Education Bureau's Values Education Curriculum Framework and the Curriculum Framework of National Security Education in Hong Kong (2025), the school nurtures students' proper values and attitudes through learning and teaching across different Key Learning Areas (KLAs) and subjects, as well as other relevant learning experiences. We aim to help students identify the values embedded in issues and challenges they encounter at different stages of their development, analyse situations objectively, exercise sound judgement and translate their values into action, preparing them to face the challenges of future life.

Values Education

Taking Root in Chinese Culture · Connecting with the World · Embracing the Future

In response to students' developmental needs and changes in society, the school adopts "Taking Root in Chinese Culture, Connecting with the World, Embracing the Future" as its overarching direction. We actively nurture the twelve Priority Values and Attitudes recommended by the Education Bureau, while integrating the Five Core Values of Catholic Education, the six virtues promoted by Caritas schools, and the school's character strengths education. Through the cultivation of positive values and attitudes, students are encouraged to make reasonable, informed and responsible decisions when addressing personal and social issues.

National Education and National Security Education

Enhancing students' understanding of our country and strengthening their sense of national identity are key priorities of the school's National Education programme. Through National Education, students are encouraged to develop a comprehensive and multi-perspective understanding of our country, strengthen their sense of identity and belonging, and develop a willingness to contribute to national development and the well-being of the people. The school plans its annual National Education activities with reference to the important dates listed in the Activity Planning Calendar of the National Education One-stop Portal, while taking account of school-based needs. The specific learning objectives for junior and senior secondary students are as follows:

Junior Secondary Objectives

Develop a sense of belonging and responsibility towards society and our country, and recognise their identities as citizens and nationals.
